A witch with a complicated family history

Occupation: Wedding photographer. The kind with a charmingly whimsical website that gets posted on pinterest a lot and gets her hired to accompany rich white people on their ridiculous destination weddings. If she comes back to the states with mysterious packets of beetle legs, strange herbs, or other local color, well, no one's the wiser.

Abilities: Hereditary witch. Her entire family is particularly gifted in working with the dead.

Personality: As a small child, Yildiz had a spectacularly bad temper and an extremely short fuse. It didn't take a lot to set her off, and once she got going she was like a tornado siren – loud, shrill, and liable to go on for an hour or more. Luckily she grew out of her propensity to throw tantrums before she developed the ability to be destructive about it, but there are a couple doozies her sisters (who also insist on calling her Dizzy, which absolutely no one else should do) like to dredge up and embarrass her with 20+ years later.

She evened out as she grew up, quicker than she might have naturally due to the sudden collapse of her family unit, and it became quite clear that her issue had never been rage. It was anxiety. Losing both her parents in one way or another, moving to a new town, and developing rather intense supernatural abilities all forced her to find more constructive ways of coping with her routines being disrupted and as an adult she generally appears to be relatively together and well adjusted. Sure she gets snappish occasionally, and strange things may start happening to you if you annoy her too much, but that's life, right?

Right.

• Fidgety. She has too much nervous energy to hold still. Either she's flipping a pen around or she's jiggling her leg or some other small, obnoxious movement. If permissable she's probably working on a needlework project. It keeps her busy.
• A perfectionist. She likes things just so. Predictably, that didn't/doesn't go well with having three sisters.
• (Incidentally, no one is allowed to complain about her sisters except her.)
• While she lacks the explosive temperament of her early childhood, Diz is frequently irritable and lacks patience for a wide variety of human behavior. She generally saves putting her best foot forward for her clients, but can also be perfectly pleasant to anyone not annoying the shit out of her. How much leeway she gives to anyone on a given day is kind of a crapshoot.
• Major commitment issues. Not surprising, considering her family history. Her dating history is patchy, and the ex she most got along (a woman she met while completing her BFA) with is now her business partner. Their relationship is much less fraught without romantic complications. The last relationship she was in ended over a year ago and she no longer speaks to him.
• Has a habit of using her powers extremely casually, but generally only in minor ways. She probably hasn't done a major ritual since leaving home and her stockpile of rare ingredients and specimens is more along the lines of just in case and just because.
• Somewhat lacking in the grace or poise possessed by some of her sisters. Basically a thunderstorm shaped like a person.

History: The daughter of Moldovan immigrants, Yildiz and her sisters were sent to live with an aunt after their father died and their mother skipped out.
